I completed my secondary education in Western Australia where I received a scholarship in Rugby Union. After completing my WACE examination in Australia, I returned to the United Kingdom to further my education. In 2015, I gained a qualification in Sports Coaching and Development. During this time I attended the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Academy and also became part of the Taunton Titans 1st 15 national 2 rugby team. I have to date played more than 100 games for Taunton Titans. I have a background of working with children with SEN both in a sporting and academic environment. I have obtained coaching and refereeing accreditation with the IRB along with various coaching in both primary and secondary schools relating to Athletics, Basketball, Cricket and Football. I have successfully completed my paediatric first aid along with various other sports and coaching certificates. In Addition to being a lead coach I am also the Safeguarding officer at L & F Multi Sports.
Whilst in Secondary Education, I played for the Plymouth Argyle Development Squad and began coaching at a primary school level. On completing my education, I joined the British Army where I played football for both my Corps and my Regiment and won multiple leagues and cups both at a national and international level. Since leaving the Army, I have obtained a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Sport, Fitness and Management and have also obtained a National Certificate in Sport Development, Coaching and Fitness in addition to Sports Leader and Football Coaching qualifications.
I have significant experience of working with children with SEN and, in particular, in providing sport and fitness in an inclusive way.
I have also completed a level 2 certificate in understanding children and young people's mental health.
In addition to coaching, I was a retained Firefighter within my local community and still the deputy Safeguarding officer at L & F Multi Sports.
I study physics at Lancaster University, where I have enjoyed representing the university in Rugby Union for the past two years. Prior to this, I played rugby at a club level for DHSOB in Plymouth for four years, and represented my school in several cup tournaments. I have also enjoyed maintaining my interest in other sports, playing Tennis at Hill Lane Tennis club for two years, and enjoying general athletics and long distance running. I joined the L&F team in the summer of 2020, and have since developed many sports leadership skills, helping to coach and supervise in the last summer camp as well as helping to teach P.E. as part of a secondary education curriculum.
I have been coaching sports since I was 16, majority of my experience coming from volunteering as a football coach for Twyford Spartans, and still run a side with the club currently managing a team for the 6th consecutive season. I have also worked with a coaching company, helping with after school, lunch clubs and summer camps while studying at College. At College I studied BTEC sport, and went on to do a Foundation Degree in Business. Whilst coaching with Twyford, I also had the chance to complete my Level 1 & 2 Football Coaching qualifications, and used the experience I have to start a 1 to 1 Football Coaching business during the 2020 lockdown whilst on furlough at my previous job. I set out to help players stay sharp while in lockdown and there was no football, which gradually got popular and was fully booked for a couple of months. In September 2021 I started my journey with L&F Multi Sports as I looked to continue to develop my knowledge and skills, and I’m excited what the future may hold with L&F!
I’m currently in my second year at Exeter college studying A-Levels, in Politics, History and Business. I have played rugby since I was seven and at the moment I am playing for Exeter Athletic Colts. I also have a passion for football, in which I have also previously played for Brixington Blues as well as representing Exmouth Community College. I joined the L&F team in the summer of 2021 where I assisted with the summer school camp and am continuing to help run clubs. I am excited to continue my development as a coach, starting with my Level 1 Coaching Qualification in the new year.
